The Truth About Visibility, Pivots, and Finally Being Seen with Jessica Burgio
We talk about:
Why pivots aren’t messy, they’re actually how you find alignment
The real reason you feel stuck (hint: it’s not a lack of ideas)
Why visibility isn’t just posting, it’s how you show up everywhere
The long game of putting yourself out there (even when it feels slow)
How small, consistent actions create massive momentum over time
This week on the podcast, I sat down with Jessica Burgio, someone who has played a pivotal role in my journey over the last few years. She was one of my first business coaches/mentors when I was leaving corporate, starting the podcast, and stepping into a completely new version of myself.
And sitting down with her again now… it felt full circle. Because so much has changed.
The Truth About Growth No One Talks About
One of the biggest themes that came up in our conversation is this: Growth rarely looks clean.
Over the last few years, I’ve:
changed the name of my podcast (more than once)
pivoted my offers
evolved my business model
tried things on that worked… and things that didn’t
And for a long time, there’s this narrative online that tells you:
“Pick one thing and stick with it.”
“Don’t confuse your audience.”
“Don’t pivot too much.”
But what if that’s not actually true? What if your pivots are actually pointing you closer to who you are?
Visibility Isn’t About Being Loud, It’s About Being Seen
We also talked a lot about visibility… and where people get stuck. Because most people think visibility means:
posting more
being on every platform
showing up perfectly
But that’s not it. Visibility is:
sharing your voice
being willing to be seen before you feel ready
letting people grow with you in real time
This podcast is a perfect example of that. When I started, I didn’t have it all figured out. I didn’t have the confidence I have now. I didn’t even always know what I was going to say.
But I started anyway. And over time? That consistency built confidence.
Why So Many People Stay Stuck
If I could simplify what we talked about into one core truth, it’s this:
Most people aren’t stuck because they don’t know what to do. They’re stuck because they’re not taking action.
They’re:
overthinking the next step
trying to make it perfect
comparing themselves to people 10 steps ahead
And in doing that… they never actually start. Jess shared something I loved:
You don’t need to figure out steps 10, 11, and 12. You just need to take step one.
The Long Game of Being Seen
One of the wildest parts of this conversation was hearing stories about how visibility compounds over time.
People finding your content years later. Opportunities coming full circle. Connections being built long before you realize it.
This isn’t about going viral tomorrow. It’s about showing up consistently enough that:
When the right person finds you… you’re already there.
If You Needed Permission, This Is It
If you’ve been:
wanting to start something
feeling the pull to pivot
questioning if you’re allowed to evolve
This is your reminder: You are allowed to change. You are allowed to try things on. You are allowed to be seen before you feel fully ready.
This episode is one I highly recommend you listen to in full. There’s so much depth, storytelling, and real-life experience woven into it that you won’t get from just reading.
